MS Funding Alliance – Frequently Asked Questions

At MS Funding Alliance, we believe that access to support should be clear, compassionate, and easy to understand. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about our programs, eligibility, and how we assist chronic illness warriors across the U.S. Our goal is to ensure you feel informed and confident every step of the way.

MS Funding Alliance – Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who Can Apply?

MS Funding Alliance programs are intended to serve eligible U.S. residents living with a documented chronic illness, including—but not limited to—Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Diabetes, and Cancer.

Eligibility requirements will vary by program. Applicants must meet the specific criteria, provide the required documentation, and complete the applicable review process. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or funding.

Applications are not currently open. Program eligibility requirements and application dates will be announced before each program launches.

2. Do You Support Applicants Internationally?

Not at this time. MS Funding Alliance programs are currently intended for eligible residents of the United States.

We recognize that people living with chronic illness need support worldwide; however, MSFA does not currently provide international financial assistance. Any future expansion will depend on organizational capacity, funding, and applicable program requirements.

3. What Types of Funding Are Offered?

MS Funding Alliance is developing the following financial-assistance programs:

• Emergency Assistance Program: One-time assistance of up to $250 for qualifying urgent needs, which may include household utilities, essential transportation, medical-related expenses, and other approved essential costs.

• Micro Grant Program: A one-time $500 award intended to help an eligible entrepreneur living with chronic illness address an approved early-stage business need.

• Growth Grant Program: A one-time $1,000 award intended to help an eligible entrepreneur living with chronic illness strengthen or grow an existing business.

Program availability, award amounts, eligible expenses, and the number of recipients will depend on available funding and approved program guidelines. Applications are not currently open.

4. Is There a Fee to Apply?

There is no fee to apply for MS Funding Alliance’s Emergency Assistance Program.

The current business-grant application fees are:

• Micro Grant Program: $15
• Growth Grant Program: $25

These nonrefundable fees help support application processing and review, program administration, downloadable business resources for applicants, and the continued sustainability of future Micro Grant and Growth Grant cycles.

Paying an application fee does not guarantee eligibility, approval, funding, priority consideration, or faster processing. MSFA will not require an approved recipient to pay an additional fee to receive or release a grant award.

Application fees may be updated for future grant cycles. The applicable fee and terms will always be disclosed before an applicant submits an application or payment.

Additional educational programming may be offered in the future depending on available funding, organizational capacity, and confirmed program partnerships.

5. How Does the Funding Process Work?

When an MSFA program opens, applicants will be asked to complete the official application and provide the required supporting documentation.

Each completed application will be reviewed using the eligibility requirements and selection criteria established for that program. Depending on the program, the review may consider documented need, the proposed use of funds, application completeness, and available funding.

Applicants will be notified after a decision has been made. Submitting an application or paying an applicable grant application fee does not guarantee approval or funding.

Additional details about review timelines, payment procedures, and required documentation will be provided when applications open.

6. Are Programs Available in Every State?

MS Funding Alliance programs are intended to serve eligible residents of the United States.

Program availability will depend on available funding, approved program guidelines, and MSFA’s administrative capacity. If a program has any geographic limitations or state-specific requirements, they will be clearly disclosed before applications are accepted.

Applicants should review the complete eligibility requirements for the specific program before applying.

7. How Does MSFA Protect My Privacy?

MS Funding Alliance takes reasonable steps to protect the personal, financial, business, and health-related information submitted through its programs.

Information will be accessed only by authorized individuals who need it to review applications, verify eligibility, administer programs, process approved assistance, maintain required records, or meet legal and regulatory obligations.

When necessary, limited information may be shared with authorized service providers, reviewers, verification contacts, or payment recipients for legitimate program purposes. MSFA does not sell applicant information.

Additional information about how data is collected, used, stored, and shared is available in our Privacy Policy.

8. What Important Information Should Applicants Know?

MS Funding Alliance is an independent nonprofit organization and is not a government agency. MSFA does not provide medical, legal, tax, or financial advice.

Our programs are intended to supplement—not replace—medical care, government assistance, insurance benefits, professional services, or other forms of support.

Program availability and award decisions depend on eligibility, completed documentation, approved program guidelines, and available funding. Submitting an application or paying an applicable grant application fee does not guarantee approval or funding.

MSFA may modify, pause, or close a program when funding is unavailable, application capacity has been reached, or program requirements change. Specific terms will be disclosed before applications are accepted.
